Piriton Allergy Tablets are used for the symptomatic relief from hayfever and othe airbourne allergic conditions including nettle rash, hives, heat rash, prickly heat, reactions to food, medicines or insect bites and stings.
Each tablet contains Chlorphenamine maleate 4mg.
Side Effects
May cause drowsiness - if affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Do not use if MAOI medication is being taken, or if there is known hypersensitivity to antihistamines. Use with caution in epilepsy, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, raised blood pressure or heart disease, bronchitis, asthma, liver disease or thyrotoxicosis. Use in pregnancy or lactation only on medical advice. Avoid alcoholic drink.
Dosage
Adults: One tablet 4-6 hourly. Maximum 6 tablets in 24 hours. Children 6-12 years: half a tablet 4-6 hourly. Maximum 3 tablets in 24 hours. Not recommended under 6 years.
