Zovirax for cold sores is a white cream that contains the active ingredient, Aciclovir 5%w/w, which is an antiviral that reduces viral infection to help speed up the healing process and effectively treat cold sores. Zoviraxcold sore cream is most effective when used at the first signs of a cold sore developing (itching or tingling) because there is less virus around during the early stages.
Dosage Adults, apply cream to cold sore five times daily. Continue treatment for five days, if cold sore has still not healed, continue for a further five days. Warning
